Why I think PPSMI is otherwise...

Well, whatever that I have here for this entry would be based on my opinions on the opinions' of others (not entirely...).

A few years ago, PPSMI (Pengajaran Sains dan Matematik dalam Bahasa Inggeris) aka The Teaching and Learning of Science and Mathematics in English was implemented and there were objections from some and were hurrayed by some. And now the Education Ministry has decided to abolish this policy in 2012 and of course objections and hurrays come from parents, students, educationists etc.

I don't want to do a pros and cons here because all these do not apply to all. All I can say is that, some do benefit (good for them) and some lose a lot (not so good for them) from this policy. Overall, this policy is good but it does not really help those who lack the ability in comprehending the language. So, this group of people really lose a lot, I must say. I mean, is it really a good idea to continue with it since we have more students who are not good in the English language (not to mention the teachers)?

Anyways, my brain is telling me this: "Isn't it already too late when it was implemented years ago?" After decades of being "brainwashed" by certain parties that learning the English Language iaitu (I quote) "Bahasa Penjajah" is a "threat" to our national language, which is the Malay Language, so, what made them think that implementing this policy would help at all? The majority (brainwashed) of the population do not want it. Only the minority wants it. Shouldn't they open up these brainwashed population's mind before forcing the policy on them? If they fail to do so, then they wouldn't have it implemented it in the first place. (We'd have saved billions of ringgit that comes from the tax payers' money--my money too).

I hate being brainwashed because I was living my life "brainwashed" for years thinking it's the truth. When I started to open my eyes and look around and see all the false things that were embedded into my mind, I felt like I was a puppet, a toy, a tool for somebody bigger than me to get what they want. The last thing I want to feel is -- being stupid and not realising that I was stupid. At the end of the day, it's all politics...yes, politics...urghh! How I hate that word or any words that is related to it, but ELECTION is a very powerful word but (again) sometimes are manipulated. See!!? Politics. Urghh! I was brainwashed that all politics is a dirty game. Forget about your turbo...Brainwash...lagi POWER.

So, you see. Since, PPSMI will be abolished anyway. Parents asked that PPSMI to be kept as an option. Hmmm...I pity the teachers. Parents who are not from the educational background will never understand the hardship faced by the teachers. Teachers are really underpaid, you know? Not only, they have to take care of their children, they have to take care of the studentsssssss and the studentssssssss' parents.

Parents, without teachers, you are nothing.
Parents, your parents respect your teachers.
Remember that.
Also, remember this.
Parents, you are not your children.
Parents, are your children brought up the same way your parents brought you up?
Don't lie ah!
Haih, parents complain that the teachers are not teaching in school. How do they know that? Because their children told them. Never occur to them, their children would lie to them to and let the teacher be the scapegoat to get away from trouble is it?

Monologku:"Mak angkat, tengok! (pause)...kesian..."
Sistem pendidikan di Malaysia seperti cuaca. Asyik berubah je...Asyik... asyik... asyik
Asyik... asyiknya bercinta...
